Owner-led remodeling and home care, built on craftsmanship and trust — from farm roots in Ohio to serving Seattle-area homeowners.
I'm Jayson Baldner, owner and general contractor of Baldner Services LLC. My path to this work started far from Seattle, on a small farm in rural Ohio. My parents bought a few acres of our family's land, and I grew up surrounded by gardens, animals, and family.
I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with my grandparents. They taught me patience, craftsmanship, and the value of doing things right — whether it was tending the garden, fixing something that broke, or helping in the kitchen with hand-rolled egg noodles and maple rolls.
Farm life also meant hard work: shoveling snow to the barn, feeding animals, and raising sheep for 4-H. In school I took every shop class I could — I still remember building a grandmother's clock — and that hands-on experience stayed with me.
My first career was in food. I studied culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island and became a sous-chef at one of Cleveland's top restaurants. I loved the creativity, teamwork, and precision the kitchen demanded.
Eventually, life took me west. I worked at a YWCA camp on the Oregon Coast as head cook in the summer and camp caretaker the rest of the year — cooking for more than 150 campers and staff each day while maintaining the campgrounds and facilities. It blended hospitality, teamwork, and problem-solving — and it's also where I met my wife. A summer in Alaska around the fishing industry deepened my appreciation for hard work and self-reliance.
When we moved to Seattle, my career began to shift. I joined a senior living community, and what started as a job turned into a calling. I spent 13 years there, eventually becoming a project manager after earning my Certificate in Project Management from the University of Washington.
Working in senior living taught me more than construction — it taught me about people. I saw firsthand how thoughtful design could make homes safer and more comfortable as people aged. Later, working with a restaurant group showed me how critical planned, preventive maintenance is to keeping things running smoothly. I returned to senior living as a maintenance coordinator, then moved into residential remodeling full-time.
In 2025, I brought it all together — craftsmanship, care, and proactive planning — and founded Baldner Services LLC. As a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS), I believe safe, accessible, and well-maintained homes aren't just for seniors — they're for people of all ages and life stages.
Today, Baldner Services focuses on kitchen and bathroom remodeling, home safety upgrades, storage solutions, and preventive maintenance plans. My goal is simple: to help people feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home — today, tomorrow, and for years to come.
